Managing Behaviour in Organisations
Assignment 1 – Critical Analysis Paper

Topic
The way different countries have decided to manage COVID-19 has changed the way people work. The category of “essential workers” appears to have expanded from health professionals, police, firefighters, etc., to include staff working in childcare, supermarkets, supply chains for goods, tradespeople, courts, food delivery, etc. during community-wide lockdowns. In some cases, governments have declared that all workers are essential workers. Because of the nature of their work and the fact they must leave home to do their jobs, essential workers have been disproportionally exposed to the risks posed by COVID-19 and have had to significantly modify the way they work.
What are some key ethical dilemmas and issues that have arisen from the impact of COVID-19 on essential workers? What recommendations would you give organisational leaders and decision makers to manage these ethical issues?
