DUE DATE: 7TH JUNE (NO Extension will be allowed)
Write a report based on the analysis of birth weight data (lbw1.dta) that was used during the lecture on logistic regression. This data was originally derived by Hosmer and Lemeshow (2000) . The original data explored low birth weight and its associated factors, but for this report, you are expected to explore a different outcome which you should identify from the description below. Your report should be similar to a published paper in a peer reviewed journal. You should make an effort to find out about the background and context in which the outcome of the study is all about but report the background in a reported speech as opposed to you doing the study. Use any of the regression methods taught on course that will be suitable for the outcome described below. Describe the analysis method of how you went about analysing the data. Comment on the size of the sample in the study. You are expected to make at least 3 references justifying your findings and statements in your report as you would do if you were to submit to a peer reviewed journal. An example paper by Burbos, Musonda et al., 20102 is attached to assist in how results are reported in published journals. Please note that NOT all that is reported in this paper may be relevant to the assignment, it is only attached as an example. The explanation of the variables in the lbw1.dta data is given in the lecture slides, please make sure you understand the meaning of all these variables in the data.
Question of interest
Using the lbw1.dta data, find a suitable multiple regression model to predict presence of uterine irritability from all variables known about the individual in the study.
