Group Size: 4 Persons.
Assessment Title Analysis of a Multinational Enterprise (Report Format)
Purpose of the assessment Students are required to research and analyse a multinational enterprise of their choice.
In the report, students must address the following themes from topics 5 -9, including:
1. Foreign market entry strategy adopted by the selected MNE;
2. Competitive dynamics and market conditions faced by the MNE; and
3. MNE’s organisational structure, knowledge management and innovation.
This is strictly required to be your own original work. Plagiarism will be penalised. Students are required to apply the theories and knowledge derived from the course materials, demonstrate critical analysis and provide a considered and comprehensive evaluation of their selected MNE. Students must use correct in-text citation conventions.
Weight 40% of the total assessments: - Written Group Report: 30%, and - PowerPoint Presentations: 10%.
Total Marks 40 Marks:
- Written Group Report: 30 marks, and - PowerPoint Presentations: 10 marks.
Word limit No more than 3,000 words.
Due Date The written report and PowerPoint presentation slides are due at 11:59 pm on Friday of
Week 9, dated 29th May 2020.
Submission Guidelines • Please see section “How to Self-Enrol in Groups” on Blackboard for self-enrolment in Groups.
• Holmes is aware of the issues that some students are facing in forming groups for the Group Assignment. If there are extenuating circumstances which prevent you from forming a group for the Group Assignment, then please contact your Unit Coordinator.
• Please make sure that all group members need to be finalised 2 weeks prior to the assessment submission date.
• All work must be submitted on Blackboard by the due date along with a completed Assignment Cover Page.

• The assignment must be in MS Word format, 1.5 spacing, 12-pt Arial font and 2 cm margins on all four sides of your page with appropriate section headings and page numbers.
• Please submit the PowerPoint presentation slides via the PowerPoint presentation submission link available on the Blackboard.

Reference sources must be cited in the text of the report and listed appropriately at the end in a reference list, all using Harvard Referencing Style.
Assignment Specifications
Purpose
This group assignment is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their understanding of course concepts and apply their knowledge of the theories and course material to a contemporary multinational enterprise operating in different markets around the world.
Details
Select a current well-known multinational enterprise. Analyse the selected multinational enterprise in terms of:
• Foreign entry strategy
• Competitive dynamics
• Organisational structure • Knowledge management • Innovation.
Further, make sure that the report is formatted properly. In this report,
• Use sub-heading, and these sub-headings should be numbered properly.
• Use appropriate paragraphing.
• Use the page numbers.
• Reference the sources used with correct in-text citation conventions.
• Provide a full list of references at the end using proper referencing conventions.
Finally, check the SafeAssign Report and modify the submission if it indicates Medium or High Risk.
Your final submission is due Friday of week 9 at Midnight. Late submissions will attract penalties at the rate of 10% per day.
Assignment Structure (Framework of Analysis)
1. Holmes Institute Cover Page [This is essential and must be completed accurately].
2. Executive Summary.
3. Table of Contents.
4. Main Body of the report contains Section Headings – e.g. Introduction, Foreign Entry Strategy, Competitive Dynamics, Organisational Structure, Knowledge Management, Innovation and Conclusion.
5. Reference List must be in the Harvard format. The reference list should mainly consist of the academic Journal Articles.
RECOMMENDED POWERPOINT PRESENTATION GUIDELINES
Students use this as a recommendation only. PowerPoint slides must be submitted via the PowerPoint presentation submission link available on the Blackboard. Further, please follow the following guidelines:
1. Maximum of 15 slides,
2. Slide number 1 should contain Topic, Names and ID of all group members,
3. Individual slides must be numbered,
4. Avoid too much text and write the topics or heading on each slide. You may include pictures, illustrations, diagrams or graphics.
5. Use a maximum of six (6) text lines per slide and a minimum of 24 pt font size.
