Task: Individually, students choose an organization/individual from amongst the stakeholders engaged in the issue from their first assignment (or another approved by the lecturer) and evaluate their communication campaign’s effectiveness, given the stakeholder’s objectives and political context. In the critical review, students should reflect on theories and concepts discussed in lectures and readings in the subject and draw on their own original research. The review should identify whether the organisation was or is engaged in government or political communication and discuss differences and similarities between the two. The critical review also should discuss the extent to which the organisation’s communication contributed positively or negatively to the public sphere in terms of the public interest and democracy.
