Assessment Task 2 Instructions
Carefully read the following:
Aus Accountancy is a large accountancy firm with 25 staff, ranging from senior management staff to administration staff. The company currently has one office located in Sydney.
The company has recently committed to introducing environmental sustainability practices into all of its operations. As a first step, a new sustainability policy has been developed and, as the leader of a small team of bookkeepers and accountants, you are required to provide information about the new policy, as well as develop a presentation about the importance of sustainability.
Complete the following activities:
1. Conduct research
The first part of the assessment requires you to review the organisation’s new sustainability policy, as well as conduct research about sustainability. Your review and research will inform the development of your sustainability presentation.
To develop your presentation, research and make notes on the following:
• The importance of sustainable practices at work in the context of an accounting firm • Sustainability facts and figures to add interest to the presentation
• Sources of information on sustainability for business that can be used to assist with sustainability practices
• The range of sustainability strategies/actions that can be adopted in a workplace. Identify at least three specific sustainability actions a business could take to discuss with your team. Note that you will also be brainstorming ideas for sustainability actions with your team so your presentation should allow for this.
• The concept of triple bottom line principles and relevance to sustainability and workplace practices
2. Prepare a PowerPoint presentation.
The presentation should have a minimum of 8 PowerPoint slides, and should address the required content as indicated above. It should also as an introduction provide a brief outline of the new sustainability policy which outlines the organisation’s commitment to sustainability. The slides should include graphics such as tables, charts, or images to add interest to your presentation.
Use the notes section of the PowerPoint program to help you remember content when you present your presentation.
