14 References
[In Alphabetical order by surname – look at the Harvard reference guide mentioned in the assignment outline, also check on the UTS library website]
[We chose AS ISO 21500 as it is available online from the UTS library – please don’t go and buy it as several students have in previous semesters. It does not count as one of your 5 refereed references. Students have also purchased PMBoK – again, it is available in the UTS library and we don’t advise purchasing it]
Please check what is meant by a refereed publication – for example, the Sydney Morning Herald is NOT a refereed publication. You are welcome to cite the text book and lecture notes but you should not count them in your refereed references.]

15 Hints
[Please delete this whole section before submitting your assignment]
[All italic text like this is best removed before submitting the assignment – it unnecessarily adds to the turnitin similarity index]
Things to check: (many of these are things that have previously caused students to lose marks)
• Do the page numbers / headings in the Table of Contents match with those in your assignment?
• Are your headings similar to those in the template (have you based your headings on previous semesters assignments)?
• Have you written everything in italic text? (It’s been done before and will lose you lots of marks).
• Have you checked the PDF?
We request PDF format because there have been problems with missing / overwritten diagrams or page formatting that is completely unable to be read on the different forms of MS word or Libreoffice or google docs. In some cases this has meant that the student has failed the subject. If we cannot read something then we cannot give you marks.
• Is there still a version number in the footer of your assignment? Does it match that in the version control section?
• Do you want to include a section 1.3 with a glossary of terms / definitions /TLAs (three letter acronyms eg QA stands for Quality Assurance, not Question and Answer) eg. What is meant by subject? Definitions are essential in Project Management for example, your idea of a road is probably very different from mine.
• Have you written something under every heading? Have you checked it wasn’t the phrase “blah blah blah” (or similar) that you were going to do a search and replace on? (unfortunately this has been found in assignments quite a few times)
• Have you included citations and references – preferably more than requested, definitely in Harvard format.
• Are your references actual refereed journals / papers / books (for example a blog is not a refereed publication). Check with the library if you are unsure.
• Many students state in part 1 that they are going to attend every lecture and tutorial and in part 2 they state that they have done so. A quick count of students in lectures / tutorials shows that this is not so. We are thinking of ways of verifying this information.
• If figures / pictures / graphs are used they should have a citation and a reference
• There’s an industry joke: “I’ll know it when I see it” - does this describe your objectives or your choices.
• How do we know that you’ve written this yourself and thought about what you’ve written? Examples of personal experience (even if it is bad experiences or poorly written) will help us feel more comfortable with what you have written
Marking criteria include:
• Title, Introduction and Conclusion
• Readable, correct amount of detail, highlights important aspects and shows that you have based this on your personal experiences.

• Includes what you expect from this subject

• Grammar, spelling, word choice, presentation, version control
• Minimum of 5 refereed publications, all references are cited and all citations are referenced. Ability to search through the submitted document to see if this criteria is met.
• Based on template and template is completed
• Harvard citations and referencing
• PDF format
• A Turnitin similarity index of less than 35%. Because we have provided a template, a score of 30% is reasonable.

? Scope
? Resources
? Time
? Cost
? Risk
? Quality
? Procurement
? Communication
Marking criteria for assignment 1, part 2 include:
