You are provided with a case study -Balancing values: An Indian perspective on corporate values from Scandinavia-. The project asks you to examine this intercultural situation (case study) and consider the problems in this situation faced by the managers so that you may offer solutions.
The main body of your response should provide a detailed critical examination of cultural theories as they pertain to the organisational context in the national culture under investigation. You will need to draw on peer reviewed, reputable, published work and academic texts to complete the task.
Please respond to the following four questions after careful reading of the case:
Question 1 - Using the ‘Context of global management; Exhibit 2.3, page 26 of the text; Steers, Nardon, Sanchez-Runde, Samaratunge, Ananthram, Fan, & Lu’ discuss how Niels Nielsen might increase his knowledge of the context of Pharmaz India in Bangalore.
Question 2 - Provide a detailed critical examination of cultural theories that pertain to the cultural, organisational and situational contexts that influenced Armita and Niels Nielsen most. You will need to draw on peer reviewed, reputable, published work and academic texts to complete the task.
Question 3 - Based on what you have learned in this course identify some of the cultural complexities and contradictions facing Niels Nielsen as he tries to understand the culture in Bangladore India.
Questions 4 - If you were HR manager for Pharmaz how would you prepare Niels Nielsen for his new assignment in Bangladore? Discuss using concepts from this course and literature to substantiate your perspective.
