This is a Make-up (IM) assignment. To be awarded a passing Grade at least 50% of the available marks must be achieved.

SECTION A: CASE STUDY (50 marks)
In-text citation and references (or sources) are required using the Harvard referencing style
This section is based on the following case study:
Case 7-2 Real-World Case
Hewlett-Packard SAP Implementation, Motiwalla & Thompson textbook, starting on page 205
As an external consultant, you have been hired by a competitor, XYZ, to conduct a critical analysis of the ERP implementation and the lessons to be learned from that.
Present your analysis of the case study in report format to XYZ’s CEO Mr. F. Brown.
Your tasks:
1. Read the complete case study a number of times to ensure you fully understand the SAP implementation and its outcomes. Understand the case study well to link it with the material from the textbook.
2. Use your knowledge of the Motiwalla & Thompson textbook, chapters 1-10 inclusive and at least 4 academically sound external sources as support of your statements.
3. From the case study and your understanding of the course material, provide your analysis only of the following topics by critically determining the negative and/or positive effect that contributed to outcome of the implementation. Your aim is to specify clearly what might have gone wrong to then suggest actions that would lead to a better outcome.
a. Drawing on your understanding of the course material and reflecting on each of the chapters, briefly and clearly describe the risks. The risks may not be discussed in the case study but you may be able to identify them by understanding the course material.
b. Development life cycle

d. Go-Live readiness
e. Critical success factors
4. Your report should discuss the points above and determine their effectiveness of the Implementation Process (in relation to the above topics only), and provide suitable alternatives to ensure that the implementation of an SAP ERP system would have a better outcome.
