1. Project background
Provide the context in which the project exists. If the project is for a specific business, then provide a description of the business- who they are, what industry they operate in, what products/services they sell, etc. If the project is for a more general area or for a specific technology area, than provide a background of the purpose and applications of the technology. This section must provide sufficient briefing on the project background and the required technological knowledge to enable the reader to understand the context and importance of your project. Do not assume any prior technical knowledge. All technical terms must be explained and all acronyms defined.

a. Market Segments: Identify and describe the market segments that will be interested in your App. Provide the demographic details of your typical customers: age, education, household income, gender, geographic location, etc. If this is a commercial App, justify your App’s price point.

b. OS/Platform Choice: Discuss your choice of operating system/platform: smartphone and/or tablet, iOS and/or Android. Justify your choice based on the platform’s market penetration and its specific market share for your identified market segments.

5. Business analysis activities
As business analysts for this project you are expected to complete the following analysis phase activities: gather information, define system requirements, prioritize requirements, prototype for feasibility and discover, generate and evaluate alternative and review recommendations with management. As part of this analysis, your final project report needs to include the following information:
• A discussion of your project’s prioritized system requirements, both functional and non-functional. [10 marks]
• An assessment of your project for the following feasibility factors: Technical, Resource and Schedule, and Security where relevant. [10 marks]
• The following models for your project, using the modelling techniques covered in CIS3002 Business Analysis:
o Event table with at least the following columns: Event, Trigger, Source, Use Case, Response and Destination.) [10 marks]
o Design Class Diagram for all classes. [10 marks]
o Use Case Diagram with full Use Case Descriptions for at least 3 use cases. [5 marks]
• A Conclusion / Recommendation for management section at end of report. [5 marks]

6. Mockup your App
Create an icon, a mockup and a user’s guide for your App. The mockup should have at least six separate screens. The user’s guide should be at a level of detail to allow your average customer to easily use your App.
The icon(s) must be appropriately sized to suit your target platforms– i.e. iPhone, iPad, etc.

7. Estimate your ROI
Provide an assessment of your project for the Economic feasibility:
• Create spread sheets to forecast revenues and expenses over three years. Provide estimates of expenses: development costs, ongoing maintenance, marketing, customer support, etc. JUSTIFY your estimates on data you gather from online sources. Be sure to include these referenced sources in your economic feasibility discussion. Determine how you will measure your return on your investment. What ongoing cost savings, increased revenue, etc justifies these expenses. This section is your pitch to get venture capital or to your management on why they really want to fund your team to design, develop and deliver your App.
