Brief
You have been asked to create a proposal to the New Zealand Tourism Board, who would like new hospitality products to be introduced in New Zealand and overseas to allow the New Zealand hospitality industry to keep up with global trends in tourism.
Task 1
Using the research you completed in Assessment One as a basis, write a report containing a proposal for the introduction and marketing of an innovative product which will meet the Tourism Board brief. It can be a hotel or food service product, for example, a new room type of a hotel, wellness & gym facilities, increased use of technology or new cuisine. The report must show evidence that increase in tourism sales is achievable through the introduction of the product.
(Minimum of 4000 words)
The report must include the following:
1. Introduction
1.1 Global trend that you are addressing
1.2 Product name and description
2. Situational environment analysis
2.1 PESTLE: Base the analysis on the existing business environment
2.2 SWOT: Choose a specific hospitality organization and describe three points for each aspect of a SWOT analysis.
3. Marketing Mix
Discuss the specific hospitality organisation's 7 Ps of marketing, giving at least two points for each 'P'.
4. Product justification
4.1 Discuss how your product will help the New Zealand hospitality industry to keep up with the identified global trend.
4.2 Discuss how the introduction of the product could lead to an increase in tourism sales.
5. Marketing plan
5.1 Three SMART objectives
5.2 Provide two marketing activities for each objective. Remember that the plan must be able to be implemented in New Zealand and overseas
5.3 Marketing budget (current market prices)
5.4 Timeline of each activity
5.5 Evaluation and review plan
6. Conclusion
6.1 A summary of your proposal and marketing
