2. Describe and discuss the interplay of personal and professional values to enable the experience of engaging in therapeutic relationships with consumers, family, peers and community
Assessment details:
Communication skills and developing a therapeutic alliance
Students will be required to create a powerpoint presentation outlining the communication skills needed to develop a therapeutic alliance with a healthcare consumer. The powerpoint presentation should include approximately seven (7) slides (including a title page and reference page) and around 8-10 minutes of narration.
Your presentation should include the following:
Outline and describe communication skills that can be utilised to develop a therapeutic alliance with a healthcare consumer
Outline and describe the components of motivational interviewing and how this relates to developing a therapeutic alliance with a healthcare consumer
Describe these skills can be incorporated in your clinical practice
You should include at least five (5) academic references to support your assessment.
Referencing style: APA 6th edition

Clear explanation of motivational interviewing skills and how these can be used within the therapeutic alliance.
Describes how these skills can be incorporated in the students own current and future clinical practice.
Delivery of powerpoint:
Use of Microsoft powerpoint platform
7 slides (between 6-8 slides) including title page and reference page
8-10 minutes of narration
Narration on the powerpoint is clear and not muffled.
Academic requirements:
APA referencing and use of a minimum of 5 academic references to support the presentation.
Powerpoint slides are clearly presented and not overloaded with information
