Report: Implications of trends in Business Systems
Analysis on understanding the requirements from a Systems Analyst perspective
This assignment requires you to conduct research into, identify, and report on the implications of trends in contemporary and future business systems analysis. Furthermore, compare and contrast the effects the identified trends have on assessing stakeholder requirements from the perspective of a Systems Analyst.
The report should, at a minimum, include:
• Abstract
• Research approach and methodology
• Detailed description of the identified trends
• Impact of the trends on stakeholder requirements
• Reflection and commentary on the identified trends and their impacts on the requirements from the perspective of a Systems Analyst
• Use sources of information from credible sources e.g.

o MIS peer-reviewed journals – Google Scholar (below you can find a ranking of the top MIS journals:

• References: No maximum but given that you are writing about a trend and will have to back that up with credible evidence, you will be using a few references (see the sample assignments provided). The assignment should be submitted in Blackboard and Turnitin as follows:
Value: 20% (Assignment will be marked on 100 and scaled to 20)
Format: Individual assignment where you will examine a contemporary business analysis issue linked to Systems Requirements culminating in a structured research report.
Due date & time: 27 March 2020, 11:59pm
Word count Maximum 2500 words excluding references, abstract, cover sheet, and Table of Contents.

Format MS Word Document with ECU cover sheet (do not use a PDF)
Notes:
This assignment will require some research and background reading on possible research topics, which highlight contemporary business systems analysis trends. For relevant information, you should refer to scholarly databases, Gartner Consulting website (and other relevant sources as part of the initial fact-finding exercise. This preliminary research conducted should be noted as part of your methodology and approach.
No supporting elements such as flow charts and diagrams should be included in the report.
The assignment should take into account features of the unit such as:

4. Identifying Stakeholders 5. Obtaining requirements
6. Requirements Definition
