Answering the questions for written assessments
Assessment tasks are used to measure your understanding and underpinning skills and knowledge of the
overall unit of competency. While undertaking any written assessment tasks, please ensure that you type the
following criteria in the space provide in the columns:
Address each question including any sub-points as per the instructions provided with each question in
the column
Demonstrate that you have researched the topic thoroughly
Cover the topic in a logical, structured manner

Result & outcome
Once the learner has satisfactorily completed all the tasks for this module the learner will be awarded “Competent” (C) or “Not yet Competent” (NYC) for the relevant unit of competency.

Assessment appeals process

Problem Scenario
Gateway Business College (GBC) being one of the leading vocational colleges started few years back, offering an experience in delivering Vocational education in IT and Business fields in the international arena. At this stage, College wishes to establish an electronic system maintaining information about students, enrolment, courses, and teachers. In current scenario, the whole system is managed manually or in worksheet using Excel, so it may cause the duplication. The whole process of maintaining student information is a time consuming. Administration is interested to reduce duplication, time, and a user-friendly software system. Analyse the current system by applying given task in the given order. You need to prepare a technical report covering all the following tasks.
Student must have to read the copyright policy from the GBC website to know how to handle the student information. Document must follow the documentation standard ISO/IEC/AS (Sample template provided in course resources drive) e.g. title page and abstract. (ICTICT408 2.2, 2.4, 3.3) (Report should not be more than 7 pages)
Task1:
a) Review and discuss the current system with the responsible person of the organization to understand the functionality of the system. (ICTICT408 2.3, ICTICT401 1.1)
b) Introduction, Scope, Objective and development methodology; design the template of the document. (ICTICT408 1.4, 2.5 ICTICT401 1.1, 1.3, 1.4)
c) Discuss scope and documentation structure with client for validation and provide the outcomes. (ICTICT408 1.5, 2.6, 4.1 ICTICT401 1.5, 3.3)
d) Gather client’s requirements and problems by using appropriate method e.g. interview, questionnaire or meeting with clients or end users. (ICTICT408 1.1, 1.2, 3.1 ICTICT401 1.2, 2.1, 2.2)
e) Gathered the client’s feedback and analysed the requirements of the system and made appropriate changes in the documentation. (ICTICT408 4.2 ICTICT401 2.3)
f) Document the system requirements specification (functional & non-functional requirements) and identify the changes required to the system according the physical requirements. (ICTICT401 2.4, 2.5)
