CPW3: Presentations (Module 10) – Assessment Criteria

Participants will be assessed as individuals for this module, but they will work in pairs.
Your total group presentation time will be at least 15 minutes (but not more than 18 minutes). Students will be timed during the presentation (with warning bells given at 14 minutes and 17 minutes if needed) Presentations which are less than 12 minutes or more than 18 minutes will need to be resubmitted. (Note: Participants will be stopped at 18 minutes even if they have not completed their presentation). Question time (Part 3 - 2-3 minutes only) will occur after the presentation is complete and does not count towards the presentation timing.
TASK:
Each pair will receive a different topic from the list below (teacher to select). Participants will plan their presentation together but the format of the presentation must be as follows:
PART 1: (10 minutes)
Student 1: 5 minute individual presentation
Student 2: 5 minute individual presentation
PART 2: (5-6 minutes)
Student 1 and 2: Present a Pecha Kucha (6 minutes, 40 seconds) together
Each student must present the audio commentary for 10 slides each (may be presented alternately or 10 consecutive slides each).
PART 3: (2-3 minutes)
Student 1 and 2: Question time Open the floor to questions.
Limit of 2-3 questions from the audience.
TASK CRITERIA
• Presentations must be planned and structured using the attached “Planning Document” • Time limits must be strictly adhered to (to avoid resubmission)
• Part 1: Presentations may be delivered:
o live to the audience (using presentation aids such as PowerPoint / whiteboard / video and audio recordings / hand out materials / models / computer simulations / diagrams, charts or posters), or
o as a pre-recorded and edited video/movie.
• Part 2: Pecha Kucha:
o MUST have timed slides (using PowerPoint). o Audio commentary to accompany the Pecha Kucha may be pre-recorded using the audio recording option in PowerPoint or students may present the commentary live to the audience.
• Following the presentation, the “Self-Reflection” document must be completed by each student to reflect on their own presentation.
• Each student must complete a “Peer Reflection and Feedback” document for each other group.
