Assessment Description

The purpose of this group presentation is to develop students’ skills in identifying and applying relevant management theories to solve a range of hospitality and tourism management problems. This will enable students to apply learned hospitality and tourism theories and concepts to a business case within a safe learning environment. More importantly, this is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop essential group work skills that are such a necessity in today’s Tourism and Hospitality Industry.
Students will be placed into groups of three to four members (no more) based on the case study that you have selected in Assessment 2. Once you have been assigned to a group, you then need to get aquatinted with the rest of the members and choose your team leader.
Your group’s task is to prepare a 15-minute power point presentation, in which your team is required to provide at least three strategic recommendations addressing the management issues identified in your analysis. In preparing these recommendations, your group will need to use theories and concepts discussed in weeks 9, 10 and 11.
Your presentation MUST follow a professional structure:
Title page
Case study overview
A summary of identified issues
Strategic recommendations
Reference List (You must use Harvard Referencing Style)
You are required to reference at least 8 sources of information. These may include corporate websites, government publications, industry reports, census data, journal articles, newspaper articles, and textbook material.
NB: Wikipedia and other ‘popular’ or non-academic sources of information are not to be used.
