The purpose of this oral presentation is to develop your skills in identifying and critically analysing current issues affecting the Hospitality and Tourism Industries. This will enable you to develop an understanding the many issues facing the diverse Industries in the sector.
You are required to identify 2 current issues from the media directly facing the hospitality and tourism sectors. Based on your research, your task is to prepare a 7- minute power point presentation and deliver your findings in class during an allocated tutorial time slot, from week 3 to week 7. Your lecturer will assign the date and time for you to present during the first two weeks of this subject.
More specifically you will need to address the following points:
1. Find 2 current issues being discussed in the media 2. Offer a detailed overview of each of the issues:
a. An issue in the Tourism Industries.
b. An issue in the Hospitality Industries.
3. Critically analyse the potential positive and negative impacts on the Tourism and Hospitality Industries.
4. Identify and examine one industry within the Tourism and Hospitality sector which is most likely to be directly affected by these issues.
In preparing your presentation support your analysis and discussion with 12 sources of information. These may include corporate websites, government publications, industry reports, census data, journal articles, and newspaper articles.
