Recent Question/Assignment

Length: 2500 words
Identify a small event (i.e. festival, sport event, conference etc.) that you have either been involved in or one
that you are aware of to complete the assignments for this unit. Use desk and personal contact research to
obtain the required information. You are not to conceptualise and develop your own event.
For Assessment One you are required to submit a report in which you will provide -
1.An overview of the event including its goals and objectives.
2.A description of the event project selection and justification methods and theory, including any positive
or negative issues that arise in relation to selecting the event project.
3.The organisational structure for this event project (i.e. functional, project, matrix). Identify and explain
the factors that have influenced decisions and discuss any positive or negative issues.
4.The Project team structure for the event. Identify any the barriers to the team effectiveness and explain
how conflict is managed within the event project.
5.A discussion that identifies the risk management of the event and how it maximised the results and
minimised adverse occurrences.


Marking criteria
•The report should be a convincing, appropriate and comprehensive description of a small event’s goals
and objectives, and project selection process.
•It must provide the event’s organisational structure, project team structure, and risk management
supported by a referenced theory discussion of each element.
•The report should be written with aptly chosen words, effectively constructed sentences and observe
the conventions of written English.
