Task Description Choose one patient safety or quality of care indicator. You may want to discuss the indicator you choose with the Subject Coordinator prior to commencing this assignment. Complete a literature search on your chosen indicator and then write an assignment on it. You will be required to describe your literature search (including search terms and databases used)
Your assignment should take the form of an analysis of the literature that explores your chosen patient safety or quality of care indicator. You must begin your assignment by defining your indicator.
Within your assignment you will need to explore and critically analyse the following:
• The role of the health service and members of the health care team in improving patient safety and / or quality of care
• The patient experiences related to the indicator being examined
• The principles of risk assessment, surveillance and monitoring in improving care related to the indicator being examined
• The role of nurses (or healthcare professionals more generally if you are not a nurse) in improving the care experience
