YOUR TASK

Choose one of the above disability types and write a REPORT STYLE PAPER that answers the following questions:

1. You need to ensure you fully describe the implications of the specific disability you have chosen (you should describe the disability and explain the challenges associated with the disability in terms of classroom needs for the student, the teacher and the peer group)? Your paper should consider:

( (i) What questions you may need to ask (i.e. what information should you seek and from whom) in order to plan for the child’s successful inclusion into your mainstream classroom.
(3 (ii) Based on the child's disability, what type of adaptive or assistive technologies would need to be sourced, and how might you go about attaining the necessary aids?
(iii) What type of adaptations to the classroom environment, including the physical, social and learning environment will you need to consider?
5) (iv) What professional development might you need and how would you access this?
(6 (v) Who would you access at your school for support and information for making reasonable adjustments?
( (vi) What do you consider are some of the potential barriers to successful inclusion (physical, attitudinal, communication, safety issues etc.) for your student and how might you alleviate or minimise these barriers.
