Policy analysis (1,500 words)
i. Find a Government or Corporate environmental policy on a topic that is of interest to you. It may on a specific environmental issue, be broad based or designed to guide the strategic direction of an organisation. An example could be a Government Greenhouse Policy and you would consider how it is, or could be applied to a private organisation (if the organisation does not have any environmental policies).
ii. Obtain a copy of the relevant policy.
iii. Based on the responsibilities of the organisation (eg., government, government agency, or private company), analyse how the policy will assist in achieving the stated goals/responsibilities of the organisation. You will need to provide a statement on the role of the organisation.
iv. What specific action plans have been (or can be), specified for implementation, and do you believe that the policy objectives will be attained. Explain why/why not and what alternate actions would you implement (why)?
v. Discuss the attributes (in context of ESD), of the policy in regard to whether you believe that it will contribute to the goal of ecological sustainable development. You need to justify your points.
