Task Description
• You have been asked to contribute to a blog called ‘Living the key teachings of Jesus in the contemporary world’. The blog is viewed by Christian people (this is your audience).
• You are to respond to three sections (a,b and c) of the blog following the instructions below.
• The blog will reflect your understanding of The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:1-12) and the meaning behind one of his parables for people today.
• A blog template has been created and emailed to you and is also located on the student intranet for you to make a copy of and type your answers in the spaces provided.
• Write your response using language appropriate to your audience and purpose.

In your blog comments you need to:
a) Identify ONE Beatitude and outline the following for the Beatitude you have chosen:
-Who was the audience?
-What was Jesus’ message to the audience?
b) Select ONE parable from the list below:
-Mustard seed: Matthew 13:31-32 -The Good Samaritan-Luke 10: 25-37 -The Lost Coin- Luke 15: 8-10.
-Identify the key message in the parable?
c) Outline two ways people can live out Jesus’ teachings today. You might refer to the parable to help you do this.
Word limit 300-400 words In your blog comments you are to:
a) Describe ONE Beatitude and complete the following:
-Who was the audience?
-Explain what Jesus’ message was and what he wanted them to receive from the message.
b) Select ONE parable from the list below:
-Mustard seed: Matthew 13:31-32 -The Good Samaritan-Luke 10: 25-37 -The Lost Coin- Luke 15: 8-10.
-Describe the key message in the parable.
c) Explain various ways people today can live out Jesus’ teachings. You must make reference to either your Beatitude or parable to support your ideas.

b) Select ONE parable from the list below:

c) Analyse how people living in the 21st century can be counter cultural in their daily living. Make reference to either your Beatitude or parable.

Submission Requirements
• Your response must be between 300-400 (in total) typed in 12 point font and a hard copy must be printed and handed in as well as a copy saved in your own personal RE drive.
• A submission cover sheet is to be stapled to the front of the task. (No plastic sleeves)
• This task must be submitted between 8:20-8:40am, Tuesday 5th April. All tasks handed in after this time will be considered late.
• NB: Serious penalties apply to work that is found to be plagiarised. Please refer to the assessment policy.
