Group Assignment Guidelines:

Students are required to organise themselves into groups of 4-5 students. You are not allowed to submit on your own as an individual. Each group will complete a detailed case analysis and present their case assessment, analysis, and research as part of a written report.
? To successfully assess a case, you must engage in additional research to gather more background information as well as current information on the company and situation.
IMPORTANT: You must submit a soft copy to the Blackboard ‘Final submission link’, wait an hour, then print the blackboard safe assign report and attach it to your hard copy. Sign and attach an assignment cover sheet to your hard copy, then submit the hard copy to the
lecturer in class.
? Assignment Due Date: Friday 5pm in Week 10
o Assignments must be submitted no later than 5PM Friday 29th January 2016
o Assignment length: 3000 words
? Topic: For this assignment your group must complete the following Case Study from PART 5 Text Book (Business Ethics – 10th Edition by Ferrell/Fraedrich).
o Case 17 – Better Business Bureau: protecting Consumers and Dealing with Ethical Challenges
? Format: Standard Report Format. Please address all questions in the case within your report o Executive Summary: ideally one page but no more than two.
o Sections 1: Introduction o Section 2: Main body of the report consisting the questions at the end of case study o Sections 3: Conclusions, o Reference List (15-20 references).
? ** IMPORTANT: Additional Questions: In addition to the 3 questions in the Case Study – each group must also answer the following 2 standard questions at the end of their report:
o (4) Discuss the concept of Institutionalisation and how it helps shape ethical conduct within an organisation like Better Business Bureau.
o (5) Discuss the importance of Ethical Leadership and Corporate Governance. What impact do they have on ensuring ethical conduct within organisations?
? **IMPORTANT: Student Contribution: Each group will be required to complete a student Peer Evaluation of Performance assessment sheet (which will be posted to Blackboard) to ensure that all members of the group contribute fairly to the group assessment. This form must be completed, signed by all members of your group and submitted with your assignment.
