Assessment Description
.
A minimum of two postings of between 200 and 300 words each are required in response to each forum discussion question. Access the forum discussion questions using the relevant links on the subject's Portal page. You are required to post at least one direct response to each of the forum discussion questions and one response to other people's postings. In order to stimulate discussion, lecturers may make postings from time-to-time and these can be responded to also.

THINK: A Forum on the Future of Leadership was a major event held during IBM's centennial year in 2011, and brought together innovative leaders from across the globe to deepen collective understanding of the keys to success. Sanborn describes the difference between leaders and managers,
which is an important part of Week 1. Cross-reference this video with the book by Dubrin (Table 1-1, p. 5). Consider your selfdevelopment, and what you really aspire to be. Leadership is not for everybody. It should be noted there are many different types of leadership.

Although many people view organisational politics in a negative light or one that causes dysfunction, it can be an effective strategy.
Think of an organisation you are familiar with (personally or through the media) and provide an example of a successful (positive/ethical) application or of organisational politics or an example of dysfunctional (negative/unethical) organisational politics. Use a maximum of 250 words.
