Marketing Analysis Report
Working as a team of 3-4, students will be required to demonstrate the key concepts learned in the lectures by writing a report that brings together their critical thinking skills to show how those concepts are applied in the current business environment
Due date: At the beginning of the lecture in Week 11 - No later than 20 minutes into the first hour of the lecture. Students will receive a 10% penalty if the paper is submitted later than this time. Students must include Lecturer’s name and Tutors name and tutorial time on the coversheet
Weighting: 30%
Length and/or format: 1500 words report style
Purpose: To assess students’ ability to pull together the key concepts and theories learnt, in a way that allows them to be creative and innovative within a group environment.
Learning outcomes assessed: 1, 2, 4, and 5

Return of assignment: Marked assignments with feedback will be returned to students two weeks after the assignments have been submitted.
Assessment criteria: Assignments will be assessed based on the rubric to be provided by the lecturer in week 5.
Now that you are familiar with marketing concepts, working in a team of 3 - 4 students, critically analyse the marketing strategies of one of the following retailer’s:
1. Coles
2. Woolworth 3. Myer
4. David Jones
In your report, you are required to include the following:
• What marketing concepts do they use to promote their organisation and products?
• How do they utilize the marketing mix elements to enhance their marketing activities?
• What are some of the promotional activities that they have used recently? Have these promotions been successful?
• Is digital marketing used? Is it effective?
The report must not exceed 1500 words. Use headings to distinguish the various
topics. Please ensure that you reference your content to support your argument.
