Title
Application of Dissolved Gas Analysis
Task Description
In this assignment students will analyse a number of DGA data from field transformers. Different relevant standards and other internationally accepted methods can be used to predict incipient faults/conditions and a comprehensive report will be submitted
Data for DGA analysis
• Students are encouraged to collect data from the organisations they are attached to
• If any student couldn’t collect data he/she can contact Kapila before 2/08/2015
• We encourage to include data from the same unit in different occasions (annual data), data from units having different ratings, age and from different manufacturers
Criteria & Marking
• Students are required to present their raw data in the appendix
• Students are required to analyse the data with the selection of a particular standard or well established technique and justification for their selection
• Students are required to explain any assumptions they take in analysing the data
• Marks will be allocated based on correct procedures as well as for the explanations of findings
• Marks will be given for each section of the analysis separately
• There will be few marks for the completeness of the task
Report
• Each report must not be more than 10 pages (At least
4000 words )
• Times New Roman font size 12
• Single line spacing with 2 cm margin on all sides
• Report may have the following sections:
o Introduction o Data selection o Results-summary only and analysis with graphs/tables as required o Conclusions and references

Submission
Blackboard submission. No submission will be accepted after this time. Only in special circumstances (approved medical reasons) submission will be accepted within a short period (as per decided by the School of ITEE) of time after this specified time.
