Preparation a journal that helps you prepare for writing the case report.
This assignment has two components. The (1) journal component requires a short literature review related to the case questions. The (2) second component is your review and recommendations for the case study. This is an individual project.
Assignment instructions
Literature Review: This component requires you to complete the weekly readings and prepare a short review of the literature as it relates to the first three case study questions. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches to solving each case question in approximately 500 words, drawing on at least four papers for each question. Describe the strengths and weaknesses of each paper and discuss (and why) you agree / disagree with the papers findings. This activity will also improve your ability to clearly and concisely analyse and logically discuss issues that contribute to appropriate and practical conclusions.
In addition, during the review you may come across other materials that you think of interest for class discussion, such as short readings and updates about current relevant news items or You Tube video clips, which encourages class engagement with issues related to participation in the workplace.
Summaries need to be submitted to Turnitin before the following week’s class.
Case Study report: Working with the same case that you have prepared literature reviews for, please prepare a report that answers the final case question. Whereas the journal component requires you to analyse the literature, this component requires an integrated discussion of case solutions drawing on both the literature you have previously read and your own opinions. In all, no more than fifteen (15) references (preferably from the academic literature; i.e. based on reviewed research) – including your text book - are required to support your discussion and conclusions. Marks will be given for evidence of thinking, reflection and integration of academic literature in support of your discussion. Please ensure you include your opinions of what has happened and why problems have occurred and how they could be resolved based on the evidence, rather than merely summarise the literature in this final component
